Exporting a list to CSV

Last updated: August 17, 2026

You can export candidates from a job's candidate list to a CSV file, choosing exactly which fields to include. This is a quick, one-off export for a single job's candidates, separate from the account-wide scheduled and on-demand exports in Data export settings.

Path: Jobs > Candidates > Exporting a list to CSV

Use this when you need candidate data outside Kula, for example, to share a shortlist with a hiring manager who doesn't use Kula, or to build a one-time analysis in a spreadsheet.

Exporting a list to CSV is available to anyone who can edit the job, so it isn't limited by the separate Data export permissions that control account-wide exports.

Step 1:

  1. Go to the job's Candidates tab.

Step 2:

  1. Click Export candidates as CSV.

  2. Select the fields you want in the file. Fields are grouped into candidate data (name, email, phone, source, and so on), job data (stage, status, AI score, and so on), and, if the application form has custom fields, an application form group.

  3. Click Export CSV.

Step 3: Download the file

Kula generates the file in the background and tracks its progress, so you can keep working while it runs. Once it's ready, Kula sends you a notification by email, in-app, and Slack if you have it connected, titled "Candidate data export is ready to be downloaded," with a link to download the CSV.

Note: The download link expires 7 days after the export finishes. Export the list again if you need it after that.
