Power-User Tips for Recruiters

Quick wins to help you move faster in Kula — without the manual work.

Navigation & Speed

💡 Collapse the sidebar for more screen space Press [ to hide the left nav. Press it again to bring it back. Kula remembers your preference.

💡 Browse candidates without going back to the list When the Application View is open, use the ← → arrows at the top of the panel to flip through candidates one by one — no clicking back to the pipeline.

💡 Submit notes with just the keyboard Type your note in the Tags & Notes panel and press Enter to save. No need to reach for the mouse.

Scheduling

💡 Let "Find Time" pick slots for you Instead of clicking through the calendar, hit Find time when sending a self-schedule link. Kula auto-selects all open slots in your chosen date range — and removes them in real time if the interviewer gets booked elsewhere.

💡 Send scheduling links to 20 candidates at once You do not have to send self-schedule links one by one. Select up to 20 candidates and bulk-send the link in one action.

💡 Collect availability before picking a time Use Request availability on the interview card when you are not sure of a candidate's schedule. The candidate fills in their free times — they can even type it in natural language like "I'm free after 5 PM on weekdays" — and Kula maps it onto your interviewer's calendar. Book in one click when it arrives.

💡 Book a meeting room in real time Check Book a meeting room during scheduling. Kula shows only rooms that are free for the selected slot, pulled live from your Google or Microsoft calendar.

Scorecards & Feedback

💡 Interviewers can submit scorecards from Slack Scorecard reminders include a direct submission link. Interviewers complete and submit feedback without ever opening Kula — which means faster turnaround and fewer follow-ups.

💡 Set a threshold so scorecards auto-close Configure a completion rule — All / Any one / At least X reviewers — and remaining scorecards close automatically once the threshold is met. No more chasing stragglers. Find it: Settings → Interview Plan or at the job-level interview plan.

💡 Download a full scorecard PDF for offer approvals From the Scorecards tab, download a structured PDF with all rounds, ratings, questions, and AI summary. Share it with approvers who do not have Kula access — no manual compilation needed.

AI Features

💡 Ask the AI assistant instead of reading through everything The AI assistant auto-generates a candidate summary the moment you open an Application View. You can also ask it questions directly:

  • "Summarize all scorecards"

  • "What activities are pending for this candidate?"

  • "Where did this candidate come from?"

Conversation history is saved at the candidate level — your team can revisit it anytime.

💡 Use AI notetaker + AI scorecard drafting together Enable both when scheduling. The notetaker captures key points during the call; AI scorecard assistance uses that content to help interviewers draft feedback faster afterward. You can control these independently — account-wide or per interview.

Pipeline Management

💡 Transfer a candidate to another job without losing context Go to the three-dot menu (⋮)Transfer to another job. Scorecards, notes, files, conversations, and activity history all move with the candidate. No need to reject and re-add them manually.

💡 Use tags to mark and filter candidates across pipelines Add tags from the Tags & Notes panel to flag candidates for fast-track review, future roles, or specific follow-up. Tags are visible to your whole team and searchable across pipelines.

💡 Bulk-move or bulk-email from the candidate list Select multiple candidates and use bulk actions to move them to a stage, send an email, or reject — all at once. Track progress under Recent Activities.

Reviewing Candidates

💡 Use the side-by-side interviewer layout The interviewer view shows the resume on the left and scorecard + notes on the right — no tab switching. Resize the panels to your preference and Kula remembers it on reload.

💡 Re-parse a resume to update candidate info After uploading an updated resume, click Update from resume in the Overview tab. Kula re-parses the file and prompts you to sync any changed information to the candidate profile.

💡 Make an interview private Toggle Make the interview private during scheduling to hide calendar event details from non-attendees. Useful for sensitive or confidential roles.

Reporting & Data

💡 Schedule recurring data exports Set up automatic exports for Applications, Jobs, Interviews, Offers, Scorecards, and more — on your chosen cadence and time zone. Recipients get notified via email, Slack, and in-app when the file is ready. Find it: Settings → Data Export

💡 Track who is actually driving hiring with the Recruiter Performance report See sourced applications, interviews scheduled, interviews conducted, offers sent, and candidates hired or rejected — by team member, with full drill-down. Find it: Reports and Analytics → Foundation Report

Integrations

💡 Source candidates from LinkedIn without leaving the page Install the Kula Everywhere Chrome extension. Click the extension on any LinkedIn or GitHub profile to add the candidate directly to a job pipeline — profile parsed automatically.

💡 Reconnect your calendar if scheduling links stop working If your self-scheduling links show "No slots available," your calendar may have been disconnected. Kula sends an alert when this happens — check Settings → Integrations to reauthenticate.
