How to Filter using Resume Search
Last updated: June 4, 2025
Kula ATS offers flexible ways to filter resumes based on specific keywords, helping you find the right candidates faster. Whether you're searching from a job pipeline or globally across the platform, you can easily narrow down candidates based on terms in their resumes โ such as skills, locations, tools, or job titles.
๐ Where You Can Filter Resumes
1โฃ Within a Job Pipeline (Jobs > Candidates)
You can filter resumes of candidates who have applied or been added to a specific job.
Steps:
Go to the Jobs tab.
Select a job and navigate to the Candidates section.
Use the search bar or filters panel to enter keywords (e.g.,
JavaScript Chennai).Kula will return candidates whose resumes contain all the provided terms.
๐ Tip: You can search for multiple keywords at once. For example:Python AWS Remote will match candidates whose resumes mention all three terms.
๐ Note: To search on global search. Kindly ensure you have enabled the "Resume search" Toggle on.
2โฃ From the Contacts Tab
This is useful for filtering across your entire talent pool, not just active applicants.
Steps:
Click on the Contacts tab from the left menu.
Use the search bar at the top to enter relevant keywords.
Youโll see a list of candidates whose resume or profile contains the searched terms.
3โฃ Global Search
Use this to quickly search across all jobs, contacts, and candidate data.
Steps:
Use the Global Search bar (usually at the top navigation).
Type in any combination of keywords (e.g.,
React Developer Bangalore).Youโll get a unified list of matching results from jobs, resumes, and candidate records.
๐ How to Search for Phone Numbers in Resumes
You can also use the resume search to locate candidates based on phone numbers, if they are present in the resume text.
Steps:
Simply enter the full or partial phone number into the search bar (in Jobs > Candidates, Contacts, or Global Search).
Example: Searching for
98765will return candidates whose resume contains a phone number with those digits.
๐ Note:
1. This is especially useful for quickly finding candidates when you have only their number or want to check duplicates.
2. To search on global search. Kindly ensure you have enabled the "Resume search" Toggle on.
โ Best Practices for Keyword Filtering
Use specific keywords like tools, locations, or job titles.
Avoid overly generic terms (e.g., "engineer") to get better results.
Combine multiple terms for more refined filtering (e.g.,
Kubernetes DevOps Remote).
