Cloning a Job

Last updated: April 10, 2026

Cloning lets you duplicate an existing job in Kula to reuse its setup for a new role. This saves time when hiring for similar positions — the new job inherits the pipeline, scorecards, hiring team, AI scoring settings, and other configurations from the original.

What Gets Cloned

When you clone a job, the following are copied to the new job:

Copied

Not Copied

Job title (prefixed with "Copy of")

Existing candidates and applications

Pipeline stages

Interview history

Scorecards

Offer details

Hiring team

Job board postings

Application form

Requisition links

AI scoring criteria and attributes

Job post listing status

Custom fields

The cloned job is created as a Draft so you can review and edit the details before opening it.

How to Clone a Job

  1. Go to Jobs & Requisitions → Jobs

  2. Find the job you want to clone

  3. Click the three-dot menu (⋯) next to the job

  4. Select Clone Job

  5. The new job opens in Draft status with "Copy of [Job Title]" as the name

  6. Update the title, department, location, and any other details as needed

  7. Change the status to Open when ready

When to Use Clone

Cloning is most useful when:

  • You're hiring for the same role in a different location (e.g., "Senior Engineer – Singapore" copied from "Senior Engineer – US")

  • You regularly hire for recurring roles with the same pipeline and scorecards

  • You want a template job to standardize hiring for a role type across teams

  • A previous job has been closed and the same position has reopened

Editing the Cloned Job

After cloning, review and update:

  • Job title — rename it to reflect the new role

  • Department and office — update to the correct location

  • Hiring team — add or remove team members as needed

  • Job post — update the description if the role differs from the original

  • Requisition — link to the appropriate headcount request if requisitions are enabled
