Your First 5 Minutes in Analytics

Last updated: March 25, 2026

New to the Reports & Analytics section in Kula? This guide walks you through the fastest way to pull a meaningful metric from the moment you land on the page.

Step 1: Navigate to Reports and Analytics

In the left sidebar, click Reports and Analytics. This takes you to the main reports page where you'll see the Conversational analytics banner, the search bar, and the grid of default reports below.

Step 2: Pick a default report that matches your question

Start with a default report — no setup needed. Here's a quick guide to picking the right one:

  • "How many candidates do I have across my open roles right now?" → Open Current job pipeline

  • "Where are candidates dropping off in the funnel?" → Open Pipeline history

  • "How many offers did we make and how many were accepted?" → Open Offers

  • "Which rejection reasons are coming up most?" → Open Rejections

  • "How is our sourcing performing?" → Open Flow Health

Click the report to open it.

Step 3: Set your timeframe

Once inside a report, use the date range options at the top of the page to set the time window you care about:

  • Yesterday — snapshot of the previous day

  • 7D — last 7 days

  • 30D — last 30 days

  • 3M — last 3 months

  • 12M — last 12 months (selected by default)

  • Custom — define your own date range

Select 30D or 3M for a good starting view if you're new to the data.

Step 4: Apply a filter to focus the data

Click Set default filters to narrow the report to what's relevant to you. Common filters to start with:

  • Department — see data for your team only

  • Primary Recruiter — filter to your own activity

  • Job Name — focus on a specific open role

  • Job Status — filter to open, closed, or on-hold roles

You don't need to set every filter — pick one or two that give you the most useful slice of data.

Step 5: Try Conversational analytics (optional)

If you're not sure which report to look at, try the AI instead. Go back to the main Reports page and click Start conversation on the Conversational analytics banner. Type a question like:

  • "How many candidates were hired last quarter?"

  • "Which department had the most rejections this month?"

  • "What's our average time to hire?"

Kula's AI will pull the relevant data and respond directly. This is a Beta feature.

What's next?

Once you're comfortable with default reports, you can start building custom reports to combine metrics and save views tailored to your team.
