Run a debrief / hiring huddle
Last updated: July 21, 2026
There's no dedicated "debrief" or "hiring huddle" feature in Kula today — no button that schedules an internal meeting or a stage that tracks a group discussion. What Kula does give you is a single place to see everyone's feedback before that conversation happens, and calendar time set aside for it after each interview.
This article covers both, and how to record the outcome once your team has talked it through.
Who can do this: Recruiter or Hiring Manager on the job's hiring team, or any Admin or Super Admin.
Where to find it: Candidate's profile → Feedback / Scorecards
Reviewing feedback before the debrief
Every interviewer's scorecard — ratings and written comments, not just a thumbs up or thumbs down — is available in one consolidated view on the candidate's profile.
Open it before your team talks so everyone's walking in with the same picture, rather than passing scorecards around individually or re-asking interviewers for their take.
Where the debrief itself happens
Kula doesn't schedule or host the debrief conversation. Teams typically hold it as a normal internal meeting outside Kula — on whatever calendar and video tool they already use — with the consolidated feedback view open as the reference point.
If your account has interview buffers turned on (Settings → Scheduling Preferences), Kula automatically blocks time on interviewers' calendars immediately after each interview specifically for this: prepping notes, debriefing with the panel, and submitting scorecards. It's calendar breathing room, not a meeting invite — nothing is scheduled or sent on your behalf.
Recording the outcome
Once your team has debriefed and reached a decision, record it on the candidate's profile — move them to Hired or Reject as covered in Record a hire / no-hire decision.
Good to know
There's no in-app way to schedule a debrief or huddle meeting. If you need one, set it up through your team's normal calendar/video tool — Kula won't create or send the invite. This is a known gap, not a setting you're missing.
The consolidated feedback view shows full scorecard detail, not just an aggregate thumbs up/down — ratings and comments from every interviewer in one place.
Interview buffers create blocked calendar time after each interview, if your account has them configured, but they don't schedule or notify anyone of an actual meeting.
