Reviewing candidates is a crucial step in the hiring process that helps you assess their qualifications, skills, and overall fit for the role.
Before getting started:
- Access to view and manage candidate profiles.
Accessing Candidate Profiles
- From your Kula ATS dashboard, navigate to the Jobs section and select the job for which you want to review candidates.
- Click on the Pipeline or Candidates tab within the selected job to see the candidates.
- Click on the name of the candidate you wish to review. This will open their detailed candidate profile.
- The candidate profile provides an overview of their application, including their resume, cover letter, and any additional documents they may have submitted.
Reviewing Candidate Information
- Look over the candidate’s resume to assess their qualifications, work experience, and education. Pay special attention to keywords and skills that match the job requirements.
- If AI Scoring is enabled, you will see the candidate’s AI Score on their profile. This score indicates how well the candidate’s qualifications align with the job criteria.
- Click on the AI Score to view detailed insights into how it was calculated, including which attributes contributed positively or negatively to it.
- In the candidate profile, navigate to the Current job section to view all the stages associated with the candidate as well as Feedback (Scorecards) from interviewers.
- If the candidate is a strong fit, move them to the next stage in the hiring process (e.g., an additional interview, skills assessment, or offer stage). If not, consider whether they should be retained in the talent pool for future opportunities or marked as rejected.
Best Practices for Candidate Review
Stay Objective
- Avoid Bias: Use a standardized checklist or scoring system to minimize personal biases during the review process.
- Consider Multiple Perspectives: Take into account the feedback from multiple interviewers to ensure a well-rounded evaluation.
Communicate Clearly
- Provide Constructive Feedback: If rejecting a candidate, provide clear and constructive feedback if appropriate. This maintains a positive candidate experience and leaves the door open for future opportunities.
