Requisitions

Last updated: December 9, 2025

Requisitions are formal requests to hire for a specific role within your organization. They serve as the foundation of your hiring workflow by ensuring every job opening is approved correctly, budgeted, and aligned with your company's hiring goals before you post it publicly.

Use requisitions to maintain hiring control, track headcount against budget, standardize job details, and create an audit trail of all hiring decisions.

Once a requisition is approved, you can convert it into an active job posting with all the key details already in place.

By turning on requisitions from your Settings page, you will be able to create new requisitions, associate them with jobs and offers. You can set the following configuration to manage requisitions in Kula.

  • Requisition ID prefix: All new requisitions will follow the prefix set in this field.

  • Requisition ID starting number: All new requisitions will start from the number set in this field. To prevent conflicting requisition IDs, any IDs that overlap with existing requisition IDs will be skipped.

  • Mandatory to create jobs: Set requisitions association as mandatory when creating jobs. When this is turned on, recruiters cannot create new jobs without adding requisitions ot them.

  • Mandatory for making offers or hiring candidates: Requisitions are always mandatory when making an offer or hiring a candidate (in case the offer was sent outside Kula).
