How to Connect Indeed with Kula

Last updated: October 15, 2026

Overview

The Indeed integration lets you automatically publish your open roles from Kula to Indeed, reaching millions of job seekers without any manual posting. Once connected, all listed jobs on your Kula careers site are synced to Indeed in real time.

Candidates can apply directly on Indeed (via Indeed Apply) or be redirected to your Kula careers portal - either way, their application lands in Kula and is correctly attributed to Indeed as the source.

Who can set this up: Admins only.

Before you start

Before setting up the integration, make sure you have the following:

  • Admin access in Kula

  • Source name from Indeed - this is provided by your Indeed account representative or support team. If you don't have it, contact Indeed support before proceeding.

  • All open roles on your Kula careers site are up to date, as they will begin syncing to Indeed immediately upon connecting.

Setting up the integration

  1. Go to Settings > Job boards > Indeed.

  2. Toggle on the Indeed card. A setup form will appear.

  3. Fill in the required fields:

    • Source name - Enter the source name provided by Indeed. This is how Indeed identifies your job postings. If you don't have this, contact Indeed support.

    • Company name - Enter your company name as you'd like it to appear on Indeed.

  4. Configure the following options:

    • Indeed Apply - Turn this on to let candidates apply directly on Indeed without leaving the site. When off, candidates are redirected to your Kula careers portal to complete their application.

    • Candidate status sync - Turn this on to automatically send candidate progress updates back to Indeed as they move through your pipeline.

  5. Under Work Types, map each of your Kula work types (e.g. Internship, Contract) to the corresponding Indeed category. This ensures jobs are classified correctly on Indeed.

  6. Click Save & Connect to activate the integration.

Note: Jobs will begin syncing to Indeed as soon as you save. To stop publishing, you must disconnect the integration.

How job publishing works

Once connected, Kula automatically syncs all open and listed roles from your careers site to Indeed. There is no need to manually post jobs - any role that is live on your Kula careers site will appear on Indeed.

  • New jobs are published to Indeed as soon as they go live in Kula.

  • Closed or unpublished jobs are removed from Indeed automatically.

  • Jobs appear on Indeed under the source name and company name you configured during setup.

Candidate source attribution

Kula automatically tracks where each candidate came from, regardless of how they applied.

  • Indeed Apply enabled: Candidates who apply directly on Indeed are captured in Kula with their source set to Indeed.

  • Indeed Apply disabled: Candidates who click your job on Indeed and are redirected to your Kula careers portal to apply are also attributed to Indeed as the source.

This means your sourcing data stays accurate without any manual tagging - you'll always know which applications came through Indeed.

FAQs

  • Where do I get my source name? Your source name is provided by Indeed. You should have received it from your Indeed account representative during onboarding. If you can't find it, contact Indeed support directly.

  • What happens to my jobs as soon as I connect? All open and listed jobs on your Kula careers site are synced to Indeed immediately. Make sure your job listings are up to date before connecting.

  • Can I choose which jobs get published to Indeed? No - the integration publishes all open roles automatically. To prevent a specific job from appearing on Indeed, you would need to unpublish it from your Kula careers site.

  • How do I stop publishing jobs to Indeed? To stop all job publishing, disconnect the Indeed integration from Settings > Job Boards > Indeed. There is no way to pause publishing without fully disconnecting.

  • What is Indeed Apply? Indeed Apply lets candidates complete their application entirely on Indeed, without being redirected to your careers site. If you'd prefer candidates to apply through Kula directly, keep this toggle off.

  • What does Candidate status sync do? When enabled, Kula sends updates to Indeed each time a candidate's status changes in your pipeline - for example, when they move to an interview stage or are rejected. This helps keep your Indeed employer account in sync.
