Kula shows information about a person in two related but different places: their global Contact profile (everything about them as a person, across every job they've ever been connected to) and their Application page within a specific job's pipeline (their status, notes, and activity for that one role).

This article walks through what's on each.

Who can do this: Any user with access to view candidates or contacts can see these pages — the exact fields and tabs visible may vary based on your account's field-visibility settings and your role's permissions.

Where to find it: The global Contact profile is under Contacts; the Application page is inside a specific Job's Candidates/Pipeline view.

The global Contact profile

This is the person's overall record in Kula — one record per person, no matter how many jobs they've applied to or been sourced for. It's organized into tabs:

• Overview — core contact details (name, email, phone), Contact source (how they first entered Kula), tags, custom fields, and summary info like skills and years of experience.

• Resumes — every resume/CV on file for this person.

• Conversations — the full email/message history with this person, across all jobs and flows.

• Notes — notes recorded about this contact.

• Activity Feed — a chronological log of everything that's happened on this record.

The Application page (candidate within a specific job)

When you open a candidate from inside a job's pipeline, you're looking at their Application — their record for that specific role, alongside job-specific context:

• Overview / Candidate Info — the candidate's core details for this application, editable based on your permissions (for example, filling in a missing email or phone number, or adding tags).

• AI Candidate Summary — an AI-generated summary that appears at the top of the page and updates automatically as the application changes (new notes, stage changes, interview feedback). You can also ask the AI Assistant contextual questions about the candidate directly from here.

• Resume — the resume/application form submitted for this specific job.

• Notes — notes specific to this application.

• Conversations — message history tied to this job application; email attachments can be added to Files directly from here.

• Files — documents collected for this application, including attachments pulled in from Conversations.

• Activity — a job-specific activity log.

• Scorecards — every interview scorecard for this candidate on this job, with an AI-generated summary across all rounds, and the option to download the full scorecard history as a PDF.

For interviewers: a different layout

When an interviewer is reviewing a candidate around an interview, Kula shows a side-by-side layout instead: resume on the left, scorecard and notes on the right, with resizable panels that remember your preferred width. A floating action bar surfaces relevant actions and adapts automatically before, during, and after the interview — and minimizes itself once the interview is complete so the scorecard and AI summary stay in focus.

Good to know

• "Candidate profile" can mean two different things in Kula — the person's overall Contact record, or their Application for one specific job. If something looks different than you expect, check which one you're looking at.

• Which fields you see can vary by account — admins can hide individual profile fields, so this isn't necessarily a fixed, universal list.

• Notes may be scoped to a single job application, not automatically visible when you view the same person under a different job — worth confirming directly if you're relying on notes carrying over.

• Candidate source isn't currently shown at the top of the application page — you may need to check the Contact profile or contacts list to see it.

• The AI Candidate Summary respects permissions — it won't surface private notes, offer details, or restricted fields to users who don't already have access to them.

FAQ

• What's the difference between a candidate's profile and their application? The Contact profile is their overall record as a person, spanning every job they've been connected to. The Application is their record within one specific job's pipeline — status, notes, and activity for that role specifically.

• Why don't I see the same notes when I look at this candidate under a different job? Notes appear to be scoped to the specific job application by default rather than carrying over automatically across every job a candidate has applied to — check the Contact profile's Notes tab if you're looking for a fuller picture.

• Can I hide certain profile fields from view? Yes — profile field visibility is admin-configurable per account, so what one user sees on a candidate's profile may not match another account's setup exactly.

• Where does the AI-generated candidate summary come from, and who can see it? It's generated automatically from the application's notes, interviews, activity, and stage information, and updates as that data changes. It respects existing permissions, so private notes, offer details, and restricted fields are only included for users who already have access.

• Can I get a full record of a candidate's interviews in one document? Yes — from the Scorecards tab, you can download a structured PDF containing the overview, full scorecard history, and every interview question, response, and rating.
