Creating an offer

Last updated: August 25, 2026

This article walks you through creating an offer for a candidate, from opening the form to saving your first draft.

Who can do this: Recruiter, Hiring Manager

Where to find it: Candidates → open a candidate's application → Current job tab → OfferCreate offer

Before you start

You can only create one active offer per application. If a candidate already has an offer, cancel it first. If your organisation uses requisitions, you'll need to link the offer to a requisition — Kula validates that the requisition exists before letting you continue.

Create the offer

  1. Open the candidate's application and go to the Offer tab.

  2. Click Create offer.

  3. Fill in the offer details — job title, department, office, salary, start date, and (if enabled) requisition. See Customising offer details for what each field does.

  4. Choose an offer letter template for Kula to generate the document from.

  5. Click Save to create the offer as a draft.

New offers always start as a Draft. From there you can edit it, submit it for approval, or send it — see the full list of offer statuses.

Good to know

  • Required fields — including which ones are visible at all — are controlled by your organisation's offer field settings, so the form you see may differ from a teammate's.

  • Candidate name and email can't be changed once the offer is created.

  • If your organisation has salary, department, office, or job title marked for approval, changing them after an offer is approved sends it back for re-approval. See Customising offer details.

FAQ

  • Why can't I create a second offer for a candidate?

Kula only allows one active offer per application at a time. Cancel the existing offer before creating a new one.
